Army experience
I served 12 years in the Army and was personally granted conscientious-objector status. I understand the process from the inside and how confusing it can feel.
Philosophy background
I hold a master's degree in philosophy, with training in epistemology and ethics. I help people think clearly about belief, sincerity, evidence, and moral conflict.
Practical guidance
We can discuss the general process, organize your timeline and questions, and prepare for difficult conversations without inventing a story.
Clear boundaries
I offer experience-based guidance, not legal advice.
What a conscientious-objector application generally asks you to show.
Conscientious objection is not simply disagreement with a particular war, policy, assignment, or political leader. In general, an applicant must show a sincere, deeply held moral, ethical, or religious objection to war in any form or to bearing arms. The military looks at the person’s own beliefs, their development, and whether their words and conduct support a genuine conviction.
How I can help: In our consultation, I can help you flesh out your own ideas, identify what matters most to you, and think through how to communicate your beliefs clearly and effectively. The goal is to help you express your beliefs in your own words.
You explain your beliefs in your own words and how they developed.
The process can include interviews, an investigating officer or hearing, and command and legal review.
Authorities assess the application under the applicable rules. Applying does not automatically pause normal duties.
There are different classifications, and every case is personal. This is a brief orientation, not legal advice or a promise of any outcome.
